Slip Shield is Somany's advanced anti-skid tile technology, engineered through a specialised post-print surface treatment that creates a controlled micro-textured layer on the tile surface ensuring safety from slipping. This micro-structure enhances grip by increasing the coefficient of friction, ensuring reliable traction even under wet and soapy conditions, while maintaining the original visual appeal and smoothness of the tile. Slip Shield tiles have R10–R11 slip resistance ratings, placing them in a highest-safety category for water-prone and high-slip areas. Slip Shield tiles achieved coefficient of friction values of up to 0.6–0.7 (COF) in dry conditions and 0.5–0.6 (COF) under wet or soapy conditions, demonstrating significantly higher grip performance compared to conventional tiles evaluated under similar test parameters. Designed for bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, terraces, pool decks, and outdoor spaces, Slip Shield combines safety & comfort. The surface resists graze and blemishes, remains easy to clean, and does not compromise on aesthetics unlike traditional rough anti-skid tiles.
